What does Affirmation mean?

Affirmations are positive statements that can help you to challenge and overcome self-sabotage. You might consider affirmations to be unrealistic “wishful thinking.” But try looking at positive affirmations this way: many of us do repetitive exercises to improve our physical health, and affirmations are like exercises for our mind and outlook. These positive mental repetitions can reprogram our thinking patterns so that, over time, we begin to think – and act – differently.

How can affirmations work?

Affirmations have been used to successfully treat people with low self-esteem, depression, and other mental health conditions. They have been shown to stimulate the areas in our brains that make us more likely to affect positive changes in regard to our health.

Why would I use affirmations?

You should use affirmations to change your mindset, you might be the type of person to say good things never happen to you or you can’t ever be treated better by others. That tells your brain to subconsciously sabotage any good experience or to have good interactions with people because you are always expecting the latter to happen to you. You attract what you put out into the world. If you’re in a negative state of mind only negative things will be presented in your life. Half the battle is just changing your mindset.

How can I incorporate affirmations into my daily life?

You can wake up and write affirmations in a journal, this helps you start the day in a good mood by being in a state of gratitude. This helps you become in a positive mindset and in a state of abundance. These are the most important things when trying to change your mindset and allow yourself to believe anything how to bring them to fruition.

What are some examples of affirmations?

The most important thing to make sure you do with affirmations is focus on things you want, not things that you don’t want, this stops you from planting the seed of doubt. A great simple example is saying, “ I am worthy of being valued.” This is a great base for this, it plants a seed of positivity and an expectation that you are worthy of being valued, if you feel that you will receive it. Essentially if you put out that you feel good about yourself the world around you will begin to reflect your inner world that you create!
